Big Bear Weather
Chains and cables – During winter and spring seasons always carry chains that fit your tires. You may need them and you may be asked by an officer to prove that you have them. Drive slow on mountain roads.

Big Bear Lake
There are many things to do on the lake as well as near the lake. Take a boat out, go on a boat tour, rent kayaks, boats, jet skis, pontoon boats and more.
There are many marinas on Big Bear Lake, too many to list. Look um up.

Hiking
There are hundreds of trails in the Big Bear area here are a few.

- City Parks and Trails – Happy Hills Trail is ADA friendly
- Alpine Pedal Path – aka North Shore Lake Walk, Flat and easy with stunning views of lake, resorts and forest areas.
- Big Bear Lake Town Trail – Moderately easy
- Stanfield Marsh Trail 1.2 miles, easy flat scenic stroll

BOAT PERMITS: If you bring your own kayaks or boat you’ll need to get a lake permit and yes they do write tickets if your boat is not registered. Permits can be purchased at the Public Boat Ramps or local marinas.

Big Bear Village Walk
Take a stroll around the village and enjoy the mountain ambiance, stores and arcade.
Lots of good restaurants, shops and coffee shops in this area. Village parking can be difficult on holidays.
A favorite is the North Pole Fudge and Ice Cream. Serving yummy homemade fudge, ice cream and candies.
